Brief Introduction of Yunnan Mining Association
Yunnan Mining Association (Y.M.A.) was set up in December,1987. It is primary named Yunnan Province Mining Society, and renamed in 1991. So it is from a learned society to a profession organization，also a member of China Mining Union(C.M.U.), Yunnan Province Federation of Industrial Economic (Y.F.I.E.), and a mass organization of Yunnan Province Mass-organizations Promotion.
Y.M.A. is formed by units and staff of prospecting’s and exploit’s of mineral resources, ore beneficiation-metalurgical and processing’s, scientific research institution’s, universities and colleges in Yunnan province. It has about 200 unit members which are include units and professions of geological prospecting, nonferrous metal, ferrous metal, coal industry, petro and phosphorus chemical industry, building materials, natural mineral water (for drink) and teaching studying about (on) miming , ore dressing , smelt, processing.
Before the end of 2001,the head of government departments assume the office of head of Y.M.A.continuously. After China accede to W.T.O.,along with the system of market economy are being perfected and deepgoing reform, following the transform of government function, and the enterprises more and more internationalize , marketize, Y.M.A.conform to the historical trend of the time, revise the leading body in time, so Y.M.A. is reorganizd N.G.O.(no government organization).On fourth Y.M.A. members’ coference convened at the December, 2001, the standing council which are the members of enterprisers were elected. Mr. Zhou Shao-lu (the chairman of the board of Yunnan Copper Group Co.,Ltd.) is the president of the Associaton, and Mr. Yang Yu-he (the vice-general manager of Yunnan Copper Group Co.,Ltd.) is the standing vice-president, he handle the routine works, Mr. Dong Tong-sheng is the vice-president and the secretary-general of Y.M.A..
To handle day-to-day work, there is a secretariat under the council.
Under the Y.M.A., there is a commissions of Natural Mineral Water, it launches business activites itself according to his characteristic.
The aims of Y.M.A. are service for developing of mining , basic enterprise unit, and government macro-decision. Y.M.A.is an important liaison link between government and mining industry.
The main items (project) of service:
1. To give advisory about policy and law for the mining enterprises; to agent and assist them to finish the works of register for the right of exploration and mining.
2. To give advisory according to the law fow the Mineral Exploration and Mining between mining enterprises.
3. To give service of pull strings between goerment and enterprises for solve the soncrete problem for mining enterprise .
The principle of Y.M.A. for mining enterprises:To make no distinction between ownership, Chinese or foreign capital, losal or external, big or small , we will be provde outstanding service without discimination.
